2017 Theme

Each year we aim to focus on one “big picture” theme. With each month focusing on a more specific theme, followed by a memory verse (or “Remember Card”) being issued each week that corresponds to the monthly theme. The daily devotions are then based on that Remember Card. This gives us ample opportunity to drive home the big picture theme through the year and teach our students valuable, Bible-based life lessons along the way.

Pathway to Purpose // Our 2017 Theme

Our big picture idea is that students realize we are created by God with a specific purpose that is found only in a relationship with Jesus Christ.

Individual Monthly Themes //

Bible Story // David and Goliath (1 Samuel 17)
God can do great things with even a little bit, when that little bit is entrusted to Him.

January Remember Cards //

“For the spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but give us power, love and self-discipline.” -2 Timothy 1:7

“Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.” -1 Timothy 4:12

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” – Deuteronomy 31:6

Bible Story // Adam and Eve (Genesis 3)
God loves us no matter what. As a response to that love, we should obey His commands.

February Remember Cards //
“People who despise advice are asking for trouble; those who respect a command will succeed.” -Proverbs 13:13

“If you love me, obey my commandments.” -John 14:15

Doing What’s Wise Even When It’s Hard
Bible Story // Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego (Daniel 3)
We want our students to know it’s not their job to justify their choices to their friends. It’s their responsibility to simply do what’s wise.

March Remember Cards //

“For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth comes knowledge and understanding.” -Proverbs 2:6
